Today, I’d like to introduce you to MiniMed Ambassador, Lorna Meinke. Lorna’s adventurous lifestyle intrigued us, especially when we heard that she’s studied aboard twice!

For 15 years MiniMed Ambassador, Jonni Lightfoot, has traveled all over the planet with diabetes as the bass player and bandleader for the band, Air Supply.

You may know Medtronic for insulin pumps and CGM, but we aspire do much more. We’re broadening our focus to be a more holistic diabetes company and our desire is to meet the needs of the millions of people globally impacted by diabetes.

Tomorrow at 2am it’s Daylight Savings Time. Not only does that mean losing an hour of sleep, but you also don’t want to forget to update your insulin pump settings!

Today we’re recognizing the 5th anniversary of this blog and the start of our social media program here at Medtronic Diabetes! It’s been an amazing experience for the entire team and we all want to thank you for being a special of this community.

One of the questions I often hear when someone is trying to decide on insulin pump therapy, is “where will I wear an insulin pump?” For many this can be a personal preference and dependent on the weather, outfit or activity on any given day.

You probably see a lot of photos from Medtronic, showing people with big smiles doing interesting activities, often with an insulin pump visible on their waist. Did you ever wonder if they were real people with diabetes? Or did you assume they were models?
