Android phone settings support


Note: Due to variations in Android operating systems by version and device, some instructions may differ slightly from what is required for your specific mobile device:


Bluetooth

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Bluetooth and turn it on. Ensure it is active even in Airplane Mode by adjusting settings in the Airplane Mode menu.

Wi-Fi Settings

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi and turn it on. Connect to a network for internet-dependent app features.

Notifications

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Notifications, select your Medtronic app, and ensure notifications are allowed.

Notification Priority and Importance

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on Apps, select your Medtronic app, and tap on Notifications.
  3. Ensure all categories are turned On and set to High or Urgent Importance.
  4. Allow sound, haptic feedback, pop-up, or lock screen display, if the options appear.

Automatic Mobile Device Operating System Updates

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.

  2. Tap System or Software update, then Check for updates.

  3. Tap to turn off Automatic updates.

    Only update the operating system when the local Medtronic website or local Medtronic support representative has provided information about compatible mobile device operating systems. Operating system incompatibility could prevent the app from functioning.


Power Saving Settings

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Battery or Power management.
  3. Customize power saving to allow app notifications.

Do Not Disturb Settings

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Sound or Sound & vibration, then Do Not Disturb.
  3. Allow Medtronic app notifications under Exceptions.

Digital Wellbeing Settings

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls.
  3. Adjust or remove timers to ensure notifications are enabled for your Medtronic apps.

Vibration Settings

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Sound or Sound & Vibration.
  3. Tap Vibration and ensure the intensity is set above the lowest setting to allow effective alert notifications.

Private Space

Do not install medical applications in Private Space, as this impairs their functionality.


Nearby Devices Permission

If you are using Nearby Devices Permission on your mobile device:

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Apps & notifications or Privacy, then select Permissions.
  3. Locate Nearby Devices and ensure the permission is enabled for your Medtronic apps.

Location Permission

If you are using Location Permission on your mobile device:

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Location or Apps & notifications, then select App permissions.
  3. Find your Medtronic apps and ensure Location Permission is enabled.

Data Saver Mode

If you are using Data Saver Mode on your mobile device:

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Network & internet, then select Data usage.
  3. Tap Data Saver and ensure your Medtronic apps have Unrestricted data access enabled.

App Permissions

If you are using App Permissions on your mobile device:

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Apps & notifications, then select App permissions.

Battery Optimization

If you are using Battery Optimization on your mobile device:

  1. Tap Settings on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Select Battery optimization from the menu.
  4. Tap the dropdown menu or Not optimized list, choose All apps, then find your Medtronic apps.
  5. Select the app and choose Don’t optimize to ensure it runs continuously in the background.
