New Customer on Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Preparing for CGM Start Training

Complete the following steps before meeting with your trainer:

Important: Do not insert a glucose sensor or use your MiniLink Transmitter until you have attended training.

  1. Charge your new MiniLink® REAL-Time Transmitter. Leave the transmitter on the charger, and place back in the box to bring to your training.

Note: For additional instructions on charging the MiniLink Transmitter, review the MiniLink REAL-Time Transmitter User Guide included in the MiniLink box.

  1. Complete your Pre-Class review by either:
    1. Signing in to myLearning and completing your online classes called
      • Introduction to Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)
      • Exploring CareLink Software and Reports
    2. Reviewing the printed materials provided in the white Medtronic folder:
  2. If you complete the online courses, print the Certificate of Completion to bring with you to your training.
  3. Set up your free CareLink® Personal account
After Your CGM Start Training
  1. When it is time for your first sensor change, review the technique your trainer showed you by either:
    1. Signing in to myLearning and reviewing the section on sensor insertion within More About CGM with the Paradigm REAL-Time Revel System.
    2. Reviewing Changing Your Sensor support video.
  2. After you have met with your trainer, signing in to myLearning and complete the experienced user class:

Items to Bring to Your CGM Start Training

To ensure you do not forget anything, use this checklist to remind you of the items your trainer will want you to bring to your training:


Insulin pump or CGM monitor
MiniLink REAL-Time Transmitter box and all items in the box:

  • MiniLink Transmitter
  • MiniLink Charger (with AAA battery)
  • Sen-serter® insertion device
  • CareLink® USB upload device
  • All printed materials in the box

CGM Training Folder and all items in the folder:

Two glucose sensors
Alcohol wipes
Transparent dressing (IV3000)
Meter and Supplies

  • Blood glucose meter, test strips and lancets
  • Blood glucose logbook (with at least the previous week's readings listed) or printout of blood glucose information uploaded to CareLink Personal Software

Additional Printed Materials


  • Glucose tablets or a snack


Additional Items (Check with your trainer)
  • Certificate of Completion for your online learning courses
