Every October and November, I look forward to walking with the JDRF and ADA to help fund research to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. I love taking my kids, catching up with Medtronic customers, and uniting with the diabetes community to take each step by step towards a cure.
At Medtronic Diabetes, we’re committed to transforming diabetes care together, for greater freedom and better health, and partnering with our local JDRF and ADA teams in Los Angeles and San Antonio is just a small part of this. We take our fundraising each fall very seriously and are passionate about both supporting people living with diabetes today as well as finding a cure. The weather was beautiful and it was great to see the ‘Sea of Blue’ shirts at the walk living out the company’s mission.
Getting Pumped Up with Lenny the Lion
Lenny the Lion helped pump us up before the race. He is quite a good dancer and always loves meeting children with diabetes and their families!
Ready for the Race
With muscles warmed up and blood glucose under control…on your marks, get set, go! Cutting the ribbon at the JDRF One walk in San Antonio and Los Angeles.
A Life-Saving Impact
This year, Medtronic employees have supported the JDRF and ADA with various fundraising events such as silent auctions for concert tickets and spa services, 50/50 raffles, and even an employee dodge ball tournament! A few managers even shaved their heads to support their teams for surpassing fundraising goals…now that’s dedication! We are pleased that together we were able to raise $360,000 for JDRF and ADA.
Singing for a Cure
The talented singer and songwriter with type 1 diabetes, Amanda Lamb, singing beautifully at the JDRF walk.
