When will this be available for Android OS? I had the Mini-Med Connect, which was extremely helpful, but the product stopped being supported, and I'd really be interested in this product.

Thanks for reaching out, Pierre. We understand the need to support those who use Android and are working to bring an Android version to market in the near future. If you’re interested in using the Guardian Connect app and use Android, you can use the system with an iPod touch.

Why won't Medicare pay for the sensors? It's a real hard ship when Medtronic wot give patients a good discount for cash. It will force us to either 1. Use the 670 as a dumb machine or go to a different brand.
Perhaps with a very high market share doesnt need to help us underinsured out.

I certainly understand your frustration, Jim. We are working with both Medicare and the FDA on updated labeling that we hope will help to provide Medicare coverage for our customers. While we don't have a timeline available to share, we'll be sure to provide updates as they become available.

Hi Amanda, I'm curious if you (or anyone at Medtronic) has went out to the App Store to review user feedback? I am a 670G user with the Guardian Connect CGM, however am unable to get the app to pair to my sensor. I tried on multiple IOS devices, with none being successful. I have searched the internet and called support with no assistance being provided. I went to the App Store to see if anyone else was having similar difficulties to find most everyone appeared to not be able to utilize the app. What is Medtronic's response to these users? We spend a very high amount of money on these products, and it becomes very frustrating when we aren't able to utilize them to their full extent while other, less advance CGM solutions offer fully integrated apps.

Hi there, Randi. We appreciate you reaching out and yes we do review the feedback on our Guardian Connect app. We have found that many of our MiniMed 670G customers have attempted to use the app, although it is not compatible. Our Guardian Connect app is compatible with the Guardian Connect CGM only system. If you are using the Guardian Connect CGM, please reach out to our 24-Hour Technical Support team at 800.646.4633, option 1 and follow the prompts. If you are using the MiniMed 670G system, know that we are hard at work on adding similar options for our pump systems and look forward to sharing updates with our community.

When will this be available to work with 670g users? Medtronic needs to CLARIFY this atrocity before making a huge deal about how helpful this is. I along with other 670g users have been extremely disappointed. Medtronic is a shotty company that doesn't really seem to care much about its consumers. I agree with the other comment - what a waste of money on products that we can't even use. Do not advertise things to be helpful and get the hopes up for your consumers if you fail to make it available to everyone. What a giant letdown. Medtronic offers nothing but disappointments.

Ellie, I'm sorry you're disappointed. All of us at Medtronic are extremely proud that we have products available for our customers no matter where they are on their journey. Products like Guardian Connect and i-Port Advance are intended for those who are unable or choose not to use pump therapy to manage their diabetes. Without a pump, a smartphone is required to allow these customers to view their data. Please know, we understand remote monitoring options are important to all of our customers and our team is working incredibly hard to make this available. Unfortunately, I am unable to discuss products until they have been FDA approved, but we look forward to sharing updates as they become available. We appreciate your patience while we work to bring both innovative and safe products to market for our customer.

i was under the impression when presented to me by my dr and my rep that I would be monitored 24/7 with the guardian connect 3. I was going to "save " money on my strips. I have found that not to be true. I have been a diabetic for 10 yrs and i know when im high or low. and very seldom even check my sugar daily, bc i know what im eating and how it affects me. So i have had this for less than 48 hours installed in my abd. and have had to do 12 calibrations which include sticking my finger and getting my reading from my monitor and putting into the GC so it can "calibrate" the readings... so how does that save me money? Not only do i have to wear this device for a week before changing, now im having to stick my self over and over to tell this smart machine what my bs is... Not to mention, ifyou dont calibrate.... it stops reading.... so at 3am when the calibration was due.. i was sleeping and didnt get monitored for 7 hours. How is that helpful.. at least if it had a "low alert" even if off calibration, I still would have known i was low... Not impressed at all with this device. Also only works with iphone or ipad or i tablet..and I have androids.. so now i have to carry that and my phone and my meter.. not cool. and not convenient.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience so far, Crystal. The Guardian Connect does require 2 daily calibrations, with an occasional additional calibration request. If you're calibrating more than 4 times per day consistently, our 24-Hour Technical Support team can help. Please give our team a call at 800.646.4633 option #1. Please keep in mind, our CGM is not intended to replace fingersticks, but to help provide you more information into your diabetes management to help keep you in range.
