- Eating the right foods for his body
- Playing with his friends to keep his body strong
- Checking his paw regularly so he knows what his blood sugar is
- Carrying an "emergency kit" of supplies just in case he ever needs it
- Listening to his doctor and family and working as a team
Do you use an insulin pump like Lenny the Lion to manage your diabetes? If you do, follow his lead:
- Change your infusion set every 2-3 days and rotate your sites
- Take a bolus when you eat carbohydrates or have a high blood sugar
- Check for ketones if you have high blood sugars
